Mayawati Sacks BSP Vice President For Comments Against Rahul Gandhi

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has sacked party vice-president and national coordinator Jai Prakash Singh from his post with immediate effect after he called Congress president Rahul Gandhi unfit for being India’s prime minister and that he could never succeed in Indian politics because his mother was a foreigner.

The Party President, in a press conference announced that the Vice-President was axed from his post for his irresponsible comments and remarks over the leaders of other parties.

She said, “I have come to know the party’s newly appointed vice-president Jai Prakash Singh made some personal remarks against the leadership of rival parties and the BSP doesn’t approve it. It could be his personal opinion which was against BSP ideology of ‘humanitarianism.”

“BSP has always respected all religions and ideologies of other parties. Jai Prakash’s remarks are not in sync with party culture,” she said.

Jai Prakash Singh, in his speech at a BSP’s coordination committee meeting in Lucknow on Monday said, “There would have been some hope if Rahul Gandhi had cared to learn something from his father [former PM Rajiv Gandhi]. He has learnt everything from his mother [Sonia Gandhi], who is a foreigner. Foreign blood flows in his body. Because of this, I can say with confidence that he can never succeed in Indian politics.”

Mayawati also told to her party membersn to not speak anything about the possible alliance for 2019 general elections. She  said, “In Uttar Pradesh and in other states as well, until an alliance with a party is announced, members of the Bahujan Samaj Party should refrain from speaking anything about alliance at any level. They should leave it to the High Command.”
