FIFA WC SF 1 : Samuel Umtiti Heads France Into The Finale

St Petersburg:

France have beaten Belgium in the Semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2018, 1-0 and have now entered the Finale of the World Cup to be held in Moscow.

Samuel Umtiti scored a header at the 51st minute to put France in a commanding position, from which Les Bleus never stepped down.

Belgium, that defeated the tournament favourites Brazil in the quarterfinals, had a particular off day. Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku couldn’t get anything going up front, Kevin De Bruyne had a rare off day, bringing the team’s enjoyable and entertaining run to an unsatisfying close.

Belgium was outplayed and outcoached on the day. It was a heartbreak for the fans of the Red Devils.

On Sunday, the French will try to add a second title to the World Cup it won on home soil in 1998. It is an overwhelming favourite now. France will now face the winner of the 2nd semifinal between England and Croatia to be held today.
