Getting sentimental about the decade-long time invested in the character, Clarke took to Instagram to share her thoughts.
She wrote, “Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing.”
The actor played Daenerys in the award-winning show from season 1. The HBO fantasy series is based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin.
The last season of Game of Thrones is being shot in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Game of Thrones season 8, that has only six episodes, will air in 2019.
